About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Like many of my peers, during my teenage years I began to lift weights for exercise; it was here that not only was a love of exercise born, but also a love for the science of exercise. I was fascinated with how manipulation of certain variables (for example, the number or speed of repetitions, or the amount and timing of dietary protein) would influence the results you would get from training.
My love for muscles, movement, and exercise led me to pursue a degree in Exercise Physiology from Valdosta State University, from which I graduated #1 in my class in 2010.

I continued my studies by pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, once again graduating #1 in my class in 2013.

After working in an outpatient-orthopedic clinic in Greenville, SC for 2 years, and desiring to grow still more in my skills and abilities as a physical therapist, I moved to Charlottesville to complete a year-long residency program through the Virginia Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Institute. I have lived and practiced physical therapy in Charlottesville ever since this time.

Throughout my studies I became certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), as well as a board-certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS).

Along the way I married Maisie Gail Coogle – the kindest, sweetest, most beautiful Southern belle you will ever meet – and we have been blessed to have 4 children together: Titus, Salem, Simon, and Phoebe.
